Oh dear, it's happening again!
It’s alive, IT’S (still) ALIVE! Notevember, that is. I’m gearing up for round number four of my yearly post-Inktober writing project, and I want you (insert parody of Uncle Sam poster here) to join me.
For those of you who are already familiar with my Notevember project, head on over to the blog to check the daily entries. If you want to contribute your art, just message me here or on social media before the end of November. If you have no clue what Notevember is, keep reading below.
Umm, I think you misspelled "November".
Nope. Notevember (as in “writing a note” or a musical note) is my personal creative project, which I frantically try to get done in November every year. I use other people’s Inktober art as inspiration to write short stories, poems and songs – one every day for the whole month. These are the rules I set for myself:
- One piece of writing per day. The inspirational art may be viewed beforehand, but only a cursory glance is allowed.
- Write/sing/play/record and publish the piece all on the same day. No more than 24 hours can be spent on a single post.
- Match day to day, i.e. Inktober art from October 3rd can only be used as inspiration for creations on November 3rd. Last post on December 1st, of course.
- Only use art with the artist’s consent, and credit the artist according to their preference.
- Publish it online. This stuff should be seen and heard, not hidden away from the world.
What's different about the fourth edition?
Where will I find the songs/poems/stories?
Right here on the blog, and tagged “notevember 2022”. The songs will also be uploaded to my Soundcloud, but they will be posted here just like the rest.
Previous years’ Notevember entries can be found here (2019), here (2020), and here (2021).
The first entry for 2022 can be found here.
